I recently attended a talk by Margaret Sherbun a Physiotherapist at the University of Melbourne about some of the reasearch she had done on pelvic floor exercise. She stressed the importance of doing the squeeze correctly - ie "up and in". In one of her studies (on older women) the majority of women when initially tested were attempting to kegel by bearing down rather than up and in. This is actually counter productive. I am hoping to get some ultra sound video footage to give a clearer picture of how a good kegel looks!
Up and in - it's the way to squeeze!
